Home blood tests: how do they work?

Home blood tests are a valuable service for people with reduced mobility, the elderly, or simply for those who wish to avoid a trip to the laboratory. With a doctor’s prescription, a nurse will visit your home to take the blood sample.

How to prepare

Depending on the test required, you may need to fast (usually for 8 to 12 hours). Your doctor or nurse will let you know. Please bring your prescription and, if possible, your identity card and your health insurance card.

The itinerary for the visit

  • Verification of your identity and the prescription
  • Blood sample taken, usually from the crook of the elbow
  • Labelling of tubes and transport to the laboratory
  • Forwarding the results to your doctor

In Lasne, Infi Lasne arranges blood tests in conjunction with your chosen laboratory, at a time that suits you. The results are then sent to your GP.
